THE WAITING ROOM

The Waiting Room was created while accompanying a non-profit organization of surgeons to a hospital in South Eastern India where over the course of two - weeks procedures were performed that directly improved or saved the lives of over eighty people. The opportunity presented itself to me and within a month I found myself in India, in an operating room with my camera. My task was to document the entire mission, paying particular attention to patient screenings, surgical operations and rare circumstances. The photographs in this series were made in and around NRI General Hospital in Chinkakani, India.
